Press Box Recap – Dec. 15, 2018

Catch a recap of the latest Press Box episode with Dan Wesley, Mike Catalana and Pat Duffy.

Welcome to your weekly recap of the Press Box – airing on weekends on the CW Rochester and on 13 WHAM ABC.

This Week, Dan Wesley (University of Rochester Golf Coach) joins host Bill Pucko and regular panelists Mike Catalana (13 WHAM Sports) and Pat Duffy (WCMF Breakroom).  Dan rejoins the show, making his first appearance since last January.  Dan is our resident College Football expert, and his appearances generally coincide with the National Championship.  Here’s a clip of Dan talking about the current College Football Playoffs format, from January 6, 2018

We begin the show talking about College Football (see above) and the Playoff format.  Talk is the format may expand to 8 teams, and we touch on that briefly.  The focus is mostly on this year’s final 4 – and whether Georgia should have gotten the nod.

Buffalo Bills talk is next, and Bill Pucko wonders if Josh Allen is running too much… His long-term health would certainly benefit from taking less hits.  Pat has a lot to say about Allen as well, but we’ll save that for later (Tease alert!)

Like it or Not begins with dual Syracuse topics – the Orange football team is heading to the Camping World Bowl, and the 25th ranked Orange basketball team is on a bit of a slide and about to host the undefeated UB Bulls…

Time is running out on the segment, but Bill Pucko has one last L.I.O.N. question that must be answered!  Beer Robots Exist!

It’s time for Unfinished Business, and for Pat to let us know his thoughts on Josh Allen.  Spoiler: he likes him a lot.  And so does Cashanova Clutch Hustle –

Dan Wesley has a message for Urban Meyer.  Technically, I guess it’s more of a rant aimed at Urban Meyer.  It’s good.  You’ll like it.  Unless, you’re an Urban Meyer fan, in which case… Dan can be reached on Twitter @CoachDanWesley

A few days ago, Major League Pitcher Adam Ottavino (currently a coveted free agent reliever) made a claim about Babe Ruth.  It was a bit weird, but he basically said if he faced the Bambino, he would strike him out every timeThe discussion took on a life of it’s own, encompassing the dramatic changes in training and conditioning, the advancements in equipment and field conditions, and the lack of diversity in Ruth’s era of play.  A lot was said.  Mike Catalana comes to the defense of Babe Ruth in his Unfinished Business… and Pat fights back with the clock winding down… the Ottavino vs Ruth debate rages on.

That’s the show for this week.  Thanks to Dan for coming on and sharing his expertise.
