Casey Mittelstadt is off to a rip-roarin’ start for Team USA in the World Juniors. 3 games in, 6 points to lead the tournament (now tied with Swedish teammates, Elias Pettersson and Rasmus Dahlin), and two Player of the Game honors to boot.
His most recent bullet point comes against the ever-powerful Team Canada, a force on the ice at any level. Mittelstadt’s early success has Sabres fans looking to the future with dreamy eyes — sometimes between snowflakes — hoping that this year’s 1st round selection out of Minnesota saves some of that for the NHL.
Mittlelstadt and Team USA look to build on that progress against Finland on Sunday, tickets still available.
Head on over to WKBW’s recent article for additional stats on Team USA’s Game 3 and a whole bunch more.
