2025 NASCAR Preview: Week 7 – Martinsville

Who can hold it together at The Paperclip?

Short track action is on the menu today (along with some pretty famous hot dogs!) in Martinsville, VA. We’ve had high speeds for a lot of the season so far, but now we slow things down on a very flat, very small track.

Here’s what to look for:

Christopher Bell was our fastest in Qualifying and will start 1st while seeking his 4th Win of the season. And while he HAS won here before, this is not one of his best tracks: average finish of 16.8 in his last ten races.

William Byron won this race last year, starting 10th today. He’s got a 10.3 average finish in his last ten attempts and seven Top 10s.

Ryan Blaney won the Fall race, and has done so the last two years consecutively! He’s got the best average finish of active drivers over the last ten races, and amazing 4.7 with eight Top 10s!

Bubba Wallace was fast in Practice but couldn’t back it up in Qualifying. Unlike Qualifying which you only really get one lap, Practice sees a more sustained lap-after-lap hammering of the clock. With a few laps under his belt, will Bubba rise to the top?

Chase Elliott has had some success here before, and he’s got the second best view on the field. Starting Outside Pole, Chase will have to be up on it to gain the advantage on Turn 1 or fall into line ASAP. In his last ten starts here, he’s got a 7.6 average finish and eight Top 10s.

Coverage of the race starts on FS1 at 3:00pm, green flag scheduled for 3:11pm.
