New Hampshire was a track that they visited twice per years for a long time, but it has fallen victim to the addition of new tracks in recent seasons. They’re down to one date now, nestled in the heart of summer just six weeks before the Playoffs.
Here’s what to look for:
–Martin Truex Jr. will be driving the Interstate Batteries colors this week, and goodness, I’m sure they’re happy they’re riding Truex this week! He kicked it off with a Pole at one of his best tracks (7.6 average over the last ten races, best among active drivers), one of which he claims as his home. Look for a lot of laps led early, I’m guessing…more than half, easy.
–Aric Almirola was our winner last year, and he’ll disembark from the Top 10 this time. Can he finish what he’s started? Things haven’t been going exactly as smooth in 2022, but a Win today would go a long way.
–Denny Hamlin (along with Truex) has finished all 2999 laps they’ve run here in the last ten races. He’s second among active drivers in that span with an 8.0 average. It seems like he should actually be better than that with the success he’s had here, but only a single Win, too.
–Kevin Harvick is our leader with Wins over those last ten, three trophies for the Bakersfield, CA native. He’s still without a Win this season, can ya believe it? Could he break that open today? So strange; after winning nine times in 2020, Harvick has yet to notch a single victory.
–Brad Keselowski is playing a home game this week for his Roush-Fenway-Keselowski team, donning a Red Sox hat through most of the weekend. He’s been…having some struggles, but has been strong so far at New Hampshire. And this is one of his best tracks, too. Can Bad Brad do some Good in Loudon? Let’s find out!
Coverage of the race starts on USA at 3:00pm, green flag scheduled for 3:18pm.
