This just in. The Chicago White Sox have passed the New York Yankees as the betting favorite to win the American League pennant. Probably has something to do with the fact that New York has lost seven of its last nine while scoring the second fewest runs in the American League.
If you’re already thinking Super Bowl. The Chiefs and Buccaneers are favored to make a return. Buffalo sits third at about 13-1 against. Like longshots? Take the Texans. You can get 300-1.
Wilson Furr is my preferred longshot at the US Golf Open this week at a cool 2500-1 against winning. He was an alternate at qualifying and only got to play when four players withdrew. A dollar and a dream.
This is a great time to be alive if you’re into such things. You could have cleaned up at the Westminster Dog Show where Wasabi… a three-year-old Pekinese… was the best in show winner. You could have gotten 6-1 by playing the toy group. A neat 20-1 by betting on a grey dog winning.
The cornhole championships are in August. Best bet? Play the field against the defending world champion. The American Cornhole League and yes there is such a thing… actually, features DraftKings as a corporate partner.
So, make it rain… Indeed… these days there are more ways to lose your money than ever.
