We’ve come to our awesome Throwback Weekend in Darlington, paint schemes from yesteryear adorning the track. It isn’t just a parade though, the race pays the same as any other week. The pageantry is at the forefront, but there will be plenty of hardnose racing this Mother’s Day at the Lady In Black.
Here’s what to look for:
–Kevin Harvick won two of the three Darlington races last year, and could very well tack on another one today. In his last ten races here, he has three Wins, nine Top 5s, and ten Top 10s! That’s all of ’em! His average finish? A bold 3.5!
–Denny Hamlin won the “bonus” 500k race last year in Week 6, and he is our 2nd best points-earner over the last ten Darlington races. He’s got two Wins in that span, too.
–Erik Jones is our 2nd best average finish here (5.2) in the six races that he’s run. He went on to win Wednesday’s iRace from “Virtual Darlington.” Could he do the real thing today?
–Kyle Larson missed every Darlington date in 2020, but he’s got our best average finish over the last ten races (6.7). He’s yet to visit Victory Lane here, but has five Top 10s in his last six races at the Track Too Tough To Tame, and has been scoring hot as of late.
–Kyle Busch won last week’s race, and is our 3rd best points-earner over the last ten races, with nine Top 10s to show, too. A fun one on deck, will Rowdy be all business today?
Coverage of the race starts on FOX at 3:30pm, green flag scheduled for 3:42pm. And Happy Mother’s Day to all of our Moms out there!
