It’s been a rip-roarin’ start to 2025, and Christopher Bell has been running hog-wild on the field. Well, not completely “hog wild,” but he’s got three consecutive Wins! Pretty impressive. Can he make it four in a row? Let’s find out…
Here’s what to look for:
–Michael McDowell was quickest on Saturday and knocks down Spire Motorsports first career Pole! He’s got the “best seat in the house” and will be sniffin’ up all that clean air early.
–Joey Logano will start alongside McDowell and will be someone to watch today. He’s led more laps than any other driver this year, and he’s got some quality finishes at Vegas including the very last time we were here in the Fall: he won! Watch out for the #22 Pennzoil Ford at the Pennzoil 400.
–Kyle Larson won the Spring race of ’24, though things have been a little off for him since his monster runs in his championship season. He’s won two of our last three races here, and has the best average finish (9.4) of all active drivers.
-In Ross Chastain‘s last six runs here, he’s finished 7th or better five times, and has four Top 5s. Last year he finished 4th at this race, but was fastest in Practice before having a slip in Qualifying. Will it be watermelons in the desert today?
–Christopher Bell: we’ve talked about him already looking for four straight Wins. This isn’t his best track, and that’s probably putting it a little nicer than the cold hard truth. HOWEVER, he’s finished 2nd in each of the last Fall races after starting 1st, but was 33rd here last Spring. Can Bell lure Lady Luck to his side today?
Coverage of the race starts on FS1 at 3:30pm, green flag scheduled for 3:43pm.
