2024 NASCAR Preview: Week 5 – Bristol

The dirt is gone, the pavement is back!

We’ve returned to the east coast and Bristol, but things look a little different this time — the dirt is gone! We’re back to a traditional racing surface, and what can we expect this time around?

Here’s what to look for:

Ryan Blaney is leading the points, and he’s in the best position so far by starting out front at a very treacherous race. No Wins for the driver of the #12 here, and just two Top 5s in ten attempts. Gotta be a better finish today, right?

Christopher Bell won last year when this was covered in mud, but he’s still pretty adept at the asphalt version, too. He finished 3rd here in the Fall, and will look to be in the running today as well. He’ll roll off 12th.

Denny Hamlin was the winner of the Fall race, and is 4th here in terms of points earned over the last ten races. He carried a 9.4 average finish.

Kyle Larson has a 5.8 average finish and seven Top 10s over his last ten races. Nice stats!

Austin Dillon has had a really tough start to 2024, but he ranked 3rd over both Bristol races last year in terms of points earned. Can the driver of the famed #3 turn it around this week?

Coverage of the race starts on FOX at 3:30pm, green flag scheduled for 3:47pm.
